A Butler will be more suited to a high powered employer, with a formal household. This will usually be an extremely demanding role that can only be fulfilled by an incredibly experienced and capable Butler who is proud to serve their master/employer and their family. For individual employers, a Butler can provide an excellent level of support by caring for their residence, wardrobe, schedule and general affairs.
A Butler or Butler/Valet registered at Staff of Distinction will have at least 3 years’ experience working in a similar role.
The Butler will be either Buckingham House Trained or will have attended a specialist Butlering School. Some even offer specialist driving skills ie Get Away Driving Skills and Awareness in the event of any unsafe or threatening situation.
Range from £530 – £600 net per week typically for an 8-10 hour day, Monday to Friday

Duties can include all or most of the following depending on your requirements:
For the Principal/Family:
Handle special requests and errands
Drive the employer to the office, various appointments
Care for guests
Drive children to school
And for the Home:
Effectively manage other staff: hire, fire and train
Lock up the house when principals have arrived safely home from evening functions
Event planning and execution
Organise parties/functions at the house
Send out invitations and monitor guest lists
Organise caterers
Carry the gun at shoots
Organise shoot lunches
Co-ordinate post-event clean up and re-establish normal momentum
Formally serve at table
Care for fine art, antiques and furniture
Manage the wine cellar
